My 5 Day Kambo Reset: Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Cleanse.

Kambo is a healing ritual used mainly in South America, named after the poisonous secretions of the giant monkey frog that lives in the Amazon. The frog secretes poison to defend themselves from predators, which is the substance used in a Kambo ceremony. While the frog secretes the substance as a defense mechanism, it can also be applied to the body for health benefits.

Indigenous people have used Kambo for centuries to heal and cleanse the body by strengthening its natural defenses and clearing negative energies. These days shamans and naturopathic practitioners still use it for cleansing the body of toxins, as well as treating numerous health conditions such as:

  • Addictions

  • Anxiety

  • Cancer

  • Chronic pain

  • Depression

  • Diabetes

  • Infertility

  • Migraines

  • Infections

  • Vascular conditions

I was recently down in Costa Rica and participated in five Kambo ceremonies over the course of two weeks. I have the utmost gratitude for this medicine and use it as an incredible healing tool to purify my physical body, mental health, emotional well-being, and spiritual awareness. Whether you are living with anxiety or depression, or just feeling as if your body needs a full reset, I have found Kambo to be an excellent alternative healing option. While every Kambo ceremony is completely different for each individual, I outlined my personal journey to hopefully give those considering this medicine a better understanding.

Day 1—Breakdown of the conscious mind. The conscious mind can be described as whatever you are currently aware of. What you are feeling, doing, seeing, touching, and experiencing is all processed in the conscious mind. Feeling off lately? Not sure why? Imagine being able to sit with exactly how you feel without the constant mind-chatter and needless thoughts. Being able to truly sit with myself and the ultimate gratitude that the medicine allowed me to feel is unexplainable.

Day 2—Breakdown of the physical body. What was I truly feeling? What was my body trying to tell me? I was able to truly sit with deep feelings and emotions that my ego protected me from confronting. The conscious mind is a powerful tool. Over the years we develop coping mechanisms in response to trauma we have faced during the course of our life. The medicine bypasses these ways of coping and dives straight to the root of these buried down emotions, most of which our mind decided were too painful to feel. Why carry these burdens with us? Stuck emotions can manifest physically, such as causing illness, depression, or anxiety. It was beautiful to be able to sit and release these feelings and allow my mind and body to feel free.

Day 3—Breakdown of the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is always working, but you are not necessarily aware of it. At this point in the process, I was feeling much lighter and thinking clearer. I felt as if I could move forward with a new mindset, yet the medicine had a different plan in store for me. Our subconscious is where we store all of our emotional information and memory, such as the emotions we associate with our traumas and hurts, our fears, anxieties and insecurities, our mistakes, wrongs and regrets. Deep feelings of sadness, pain, anger, shame, and regret are all stored in the subconscious mind. We may not even realize we are carrying these feelings if the experiences we are holding on to are too painful for the conscious mind to process. Clearing of the subconscious mind allows us to free ourselves from old patterns that may be holding us back and make room for new habits that will help achieve a healthier well-being. I was able to sit and think about my goals and dreams to find out what thoughts, habits, ideas, or barriers have been keeping me from achieving my highest potential.

Day 4—Emotional check in. After three sessions of transformational work, being rewarded the feeling of liberation and freedom from stored programming that was no longer serving me was the deepest sense of peace I could have ever asked for. I was able to emotionally check in with my conscious thoughts and actions to be able to reprogram my subconscious mind. The connection between the two can reprogram how we feel, heal trauma, and change habits that allow us to blossom into living a fulfilling life that focuses on the things that matter most. I was able to visualize what I want to manifest, while feeling as if my subconscious was being reprogrammed to my new found mindset.

Day 5—Full surrender to the Kambo medicine. The ultimate goal is the allow your conscious mind to relax and let your subconscious take over. The feeling of being in tune with the subconscious mind trains your brain to be in line with your true desires, dreams, and life goals. Freeing yourself from self-limiting beliefs is the first step to towards the path of enlightenment. Kambo is a great healing tool that brings everything to the surface to show what needs to be dealt with and changed. I will be forever grateful to this beautiful medicine to cleanse my physical body, free my mind, and spiritually cleanse the deepest parts of me. Thank you Kambo <3
